Separate basic quizzes from real assessments. Multiple-choice questions are useful for quick checks, but exam workflows need passing grades, attempts, question pools, reporting, and certificate triggers.
Choose LearnWorlds if assessment design matters to the course product. It supports graded exams, self-assessments, graded SCORM packages, manual grading, timers, Gradebook tracking, and certificates tied to completion or exam success, but the Starter plan’s $5 per-enrolment fee can make Pro Trainer the more realistic plan at volume.
Choose TalentLMS if the job is employee training, partner education, customer training, or compliance. It gives teams test exports, pass/fail status, attempt data, question-level correctness, and SCORM 1.2, Tin Can/xAPI, and cmi5 on paid plans, but it is less focused on public course selling.
Choose Thinkific if selling courses matters more than rigorous native testing. It has strong course-commerce foundations and certificates on Start and above, but its built-in quiz lessons are multiple-choice only, and advanced exams usually need the separate Brillium integration.
Do the fee maths before you commit. LearnWorlds Starter has a $5 per-enrolment fee, Teachable Starter has a 7.5% platform transaction fee, and Thinkific can add third-party gateway fees if you do not use Thinkific Payments.
Check how certificates are triggered. A completion certificate is enough for many creator courses, but professional training often needs a certificate awarded only after passing a graded exam.
